About me:
Welcome, I’m Rebecca, a psychotherapeutic counsellor. I work collaboratively with clients to navigate life’s challenges, process difficult thoughts and emotions, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves.
Together, we explore core issues and identify repeating relational or behavioural patterns, making sense of how these may be shaping your current experiences. From there, we work towards meaningful, realistic changes that feel authentic and sustainable.
I particularly support clients experiencing:
Childhood trauma and attachment wounds
Narcissistic or emotionally abusive relationships
Relational trauma and repeating patterns
Complex PTSD (CPTSD) and emotional regulation difficulties
I have a particular interest in working with relational trauma and narcissistic abuse recovery.
Many of my clients experience:
Anxiety or feeling 'on edge' or like they are 'walking on eggshells in relationships'
People-pleasing or over-functioning
Emotional overwhelm
Perfectionism
Difficulty trusting others
Persistent self-criticism
You may notice patterns such as overthinking, self-abandonment, difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling stuck in relationships that echo earlier experiences.
At times, you may feel unsure of your own needs or question your reactions, even when something doesn’t feel right.
My Approach:
Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and intuitive. My approach is integrative, drawing on humanistic, psychodynamic, and relational models, allowing therapy to be tailored to your individual needs, pace, and goals.
At the heart of my work is a relational approach, which is the belief that meaningful change happens within a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship. Over time, this process can help you develop a stronger sense of self, improve emotional resilience, and create more fulfilling and authentic relationships.
I bring experience from supporting survivors of domestic abuse, working on a mental health helpline, and volunteering as a counsellor at a women’s centre. Over the past decade, I have also taken part in ongoing trauma and family constellation workshops, which continue to deepen my understanding of relational and systemic dynamics and further inform my integrative, relational approach.
I believe being an effective therapist involves ongoing personal and professional development. I engage in regular training, supervision, and reflective practice to ensure I can offer depth, presence, and authenticity in my work. As Irvin Yalom wrote, “The best therapists are always learning, not just about others, but about themselves.” This ongoing learning forms an important part of the care I offer.

Choosing a therapist can feel daunting, so I encourage you to trust your sense of fit. I offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation to explore what brings you to therapy and whether working together feels like a good fit.
