About me:

Welcome, I’m Rebecca, a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I work collaboratively with clients to navigate life’s challenges, process difficult thoughts and emotions, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. Together, we identify core issues, explore any repeating behavioural or relational patterns, and clarify the changes you want to make. From there, we set realistic, meaningful goals and work towards new ways of approaching life that feel authentic, sustainable, and empowering.

Issues I work with:

  • Childhood trauma

  • Relationship or family difficulties

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Low mood or depression

  • Domestic abuse / narcissistic abuse

  • Narcissistic parenting/family dynamics

  • Complex PTSD (CPTSD)

  • Loss and bereavement

  • Self-esteem and confidence issues

  • Life transitions or feeling stuck

  • Work stress

  • Work performance anxiety

My Approach:

Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and intuitive. My approach is integrative, drawing on humanistic, psychodynamic, and relational models, which allows therapy to be tailored to each individual. Every person’s story, pace, and goals are unique, so therapy with me is shaped around you. At the heart of my work is a relational approach: the belief that meaningful change happens within a trusting, supportive therapeutic relationship that fosters genuine connection. Over time, this process can help you build a stronger sense of self, improve emotional resilience, create more fulfilling relationships, and feel better equipped to handle life’s challenges and opportunities.

I bring experience from supporting survivors of domestic abuse, working on a mental health helpline, and volunteering as a counsellor at a women’s centre. Over the past decade, I have also taken part in ongoing trauma and family constellation workshops, which continue to deepen my understanding of relational and systemic dynamics and further inform my integrative, relational approach.

I believe being an effective therapist requires continuous personal and professional growth. Each client I meet teaches me something new about the human experience, and I see my development as an essential part of ethical practice. As Irvin Yalom said, “The best therapists are always learning, not just about others, but about themselves.” I view my own learning as part of the care I offer, because we can only take clients as far as we are willing to go ourselves. Ongoing training, supervision, and reflection allow me to bring depth, presence, and authenticity to my work, ensuring I can meet each client where they are.

Therapy Options:

Choosing a therapist can feel daunting, so I encourage you to trust your sense of fit. I offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation to explore what brings you to therapy and whether working together feels like a good fit.

In addition to ongoing counselling and psychotherapy, I also offer single-session therapy — a focused, one-off 90-minute session designed to help you gain clarity, explore patterns, and identify meaningful next steps. You don’t need to commit to ongoing therapy to benefit; sometimes a single conversation is enough to shift perspective or move something forward. This option can be particularly helpful if you’re feeling stuck, facing a specific challenge, or wanting space to explore something important right now.
